We will gather at the designated time at the Pórtico do Canal to set off on our guided exploration of the Aveiro salt fields, renowned for their distinctive scenery in northern Portugal. This journey will introduce you to the "marnotos", skilled artisans who harvest salt using traditional wooden tools, as well as the "salineiras", who meticulously transport it in wicker baskets to nearby boats. The significance of these trades is celebrated in Aveiro, evident by two statues honoring their contributions located in the heart of the city.
