Excursion Overview

At the prearranged hour, we will collect you from your Belgrade hotel and commence our journey towards the stunning Danube Valley.

After approximately two hours of travel, accompanied by the meandering Danube, we will reach the majestic Golubac Fortress, a historical stronghold perched on steep cliffs that seem almost unreachable. From a distance, its enchanting towers appear as though they have been lifted from a storybook. At the summit of one of these towers, you will enjoy magnificent vistas of the region: an overview of the Iron Gates of the Danube, the widest section of the river, along with its stunning landscape.

Next, we will pause at the eco-ethnological site Kapetan Mišin Breg, which provides an exquisite viewpoint of the Djerdap Gorge, marking the boundary between eastern Serbia and Romania.

Following this, you will have some leisure time to savor lunch at one of the local eateries nearby. Rejuvenated, we will embark on a 1-hour boat journey through the remarkable Iron Gates Gorge, considered one of the most spectacular segments of the Danube as it weaves through Serbia.

After the boat trip, we will visit the Tabula Traiana, a Roman inscription that celebrates the ambitious engineering endeavor of Emperor Trajan, who constructed a road through the challenging terrain of the gorge.

In conclusion, we will wrap up our adventure by returning you to your hotel, where we expect to arrive after about 12 hours.
