Located in a strategic bay in Brittany, France, the National Maritime Museum is housed in the Brest Castle, which boasts no less than 17 centuries of history.

With this ticket to the National Maritime Museum in Brest, you can explore its extraordinary permanent collection at your own pace. Ship models, navigational instruments, works of art... The exhibition is truly extensive!

Among the main models on display in the museum is the scale model of Le Canot de l'Empereur, an impressive ship built in 1810 in the shipyards of Antwerp. Don't miss the reproduction of La Bretagne, a ship with no less than 100 cannons that was launched in 1766.

Other must-see pieces include an octant from 1750, the figurehead of the 18th-century frigate HMS Pandora, and the chains from the old Brest prison.

The visit takes between 1.5 hours and 2 hours, although you can stay in the museum as long as you like.

Opening Hours

The National Maritime Museum in Brest is open at the following times:

• April to September: Every day from 10 am to 6:30 pm
• October to March: Every day (except Tuesdays) from 1:30 pm to 6:30 pm.

Free Admission

Young people from the European Union aged 18 to 25, and visitors under 18 of any nationality can enter the museum free of charge. To do so, they must collect their ticket directly from the ticket office.
