Chichén Itzá & Chichi Kan Cenote Day Trip
Descripción
Explore the magnificent Maya heritage of Chichén Itzá through this exciting excursion departing from Cancún. Additionally, experience the natural beauty of the Chichi Kan cenote and take a guided tour of the charming town of Valladolid.
Trip Overview
We'll begin our adventure with a pickup from your selected meeting point or your hotel in Cancún at the scheduled time.
The journey will commence at Chichén Itzá, the holiest Mayan site in Yucatán. Upon arrival, we will delve into the mysteries of the Kukulkán Pyramid. Visitors can observe how the structure casts a fascinating interplay of light and shadow during the solstice, reflecting the advanced astronomical insights of the Pre-Columbian era. Getting close to this iconic pyramid allows you to appreciate its steep steps, making it a truly unique destination. Did you know that this landmark was honored as one of the New Seven Wonders of the World in 2007?
As we continue our exploration, we will discover the various temples of Chichén Itzá, including the awe-inspiring Temple of the Warriors, adorned with vivid depictions of warfare and surrounded by a cluster of columns, which serve as guardians of the Chac Mool, the deity of rain.
After our excursion at the archaeological site, a refreshing swim awaits us at the Chichi Kan cenote. Following this rejuvenating experience, we’ll savor a buffet lunch (for those booking the day trip with hotel inclusion) while indulging in a tequila tasting.
The day will conclude with a scenic exploration of Valladolid, a picturesque Yucatán town where we will discover the heritage of the Iglesia de San Servacio, the Palacio Municipal, and the Mercado Municipal.
Ultimately, we will return to our initial meeting points in Cancún, with our arrival expected 12-13 hours after pickup.
Key Information
Due to current circumstances, our stop in Valladolid will last 25 minutes, allowing us to visit the church of San Servacio, the Municipal Palace, and the Municipal Market via bus. Time spent at the cenote will be extended accordingly.
It's important to note that access to the archaeological site of Chichén Itzá requires continuous accompaniment from a guide, as individual explorations are not permitted.
Special events may cause the closure of Valladolid; if this occurs, additional time will be allocated for other activities.
