Our itinerary will also include a visit to Porta Pescara upon entering the old town. Here, we will explore a medieval washhouse tucked away within a palace's courtyard. We'll admire the Palazzo Mandralisca, which hosts an intriguing museum of Byzantine icons, and stand before the magnificent Cathedral of the Transfiguration, a remarkable instance of Arab-Norman architecture. After taking in its impressive façade, we'll venture inside the basilica to view the stunning gilded mosaic that graces the apse.
