Excursion Overview

At the scheduled time, we will meet you at the Hostel Amigo located in Mexico City, and commence our journey to the renowned Grutas Tolantongo (Tolantongo Caves), found in the Hidalgo state. The minibus ride is expected to last around 4 hours.

We will make several breaks along the way to allow you to stretch and unwind, with one of these stops providing an opportunity for breakfast (at your own expense). Upon arriving at our destination, you'll enjoy approximately 5 to 6 hours of leisure time to unwind and explore this natural spa, elevated at nearly 4,200 ft (1,280 m). Prepare to be astonished as soon as we get there!

The Grutas Tolantongo are notable for their impressive canyon rising 1,640 ft (500 m), with cascading waterfalls creating turquoise pools that offer stunning mountain views. You will also have the chance to observe unique flora, including yuccas, mesquite trees, nochebuenas, and cacti.

Explore a tunnel carved into the rock, enjoy a swim within a cave, stroll along the Tolantongo River, and indulge in a soothing bath at the Hidden Paradise area... There's something enjoyable for everyone at the Tolantongo caves! Experience contrasting temperatures at the waterfall with icy water or traverse a suspension bridge to take in the breathtaking vistas offered by this enchanting grotto.

When the time comes, we will return to the minibus and begin our journey back to Mexico City, concluding our day trip at the original meeting point after approximately 14 hours.

Excursion Options

During the reservation process, you will have the following choices:

• Day trip without lunch: This option allows you to enjoy the planned itinerary. It includes round-trip transportation to the caves and access to the park.
• Day trip with lunch: In addition to the components of the previous option, this package offers a delightful box lunch, with a vegetarian choice available! If you select this option, please be sure to visit the café at the meeting point to collect your lunch before boarding the bus.
