Visiting Rome in a small group
If you arrive in Civitavecchia by cruise, this small group excursion to Rome is an opportunity not to be missed. You will depart from the "Largo della Pace" terminal in a comfortable minibus with recorded commentary on the history, art, and culture you will encounter.
After a one hour and fifteen-minute journey, you will arrive at the Vatican City, your first stop of the day. You will have one hour of free time to explore St. Peter's Square, an important square designed by Gian Lorenzo Bernini in the 17th century.
Continuing your panoramic tour of Rome, you will see the Tiber River, Castel Sant’Angelo, Tiber Island, Circo Massimo, the Palatine and Aventine hills, as well as the Arch of Constantine. You will get 40 minutes to explore the exterior of the Colosseum, a UNESCO World Heritage site.
The tour continues with a visit to the Bocca della Verità, and then a walking tour through the city center. You will visit Piazza Venezia, the Vittorio Emanuele II monument, the Trevi Fountain, and the Pantheon, ending at Piazza Navona where you will have one hour of free time to enjoy Italian cuisine before returning to the cruise. The excursion lasts seven hours in total.

This excursion is not suitable for passengers on ships leaving at 17:00, such as the MSC Divina cruise.

On the day of the activity, the Civitatours local team will be waiting for you with a yellow t-shirt and Civitatours signs at the "Largo della Pace" terminal, at the following address: Via Tarquinia 12, Civitavecchia, Rome.
We'll meet at the meeting point 15 minutes before the scheduled time. To get there, you'll need to take the free shuttle service once you get off your cruise. These buses will take you to the meeting point in just 10 minutes.
Important Info
- To access sacred sites, it's mandatory to have your shoulders and knees covered
- The return time is scheduled for approximately 5:15 pm
- You must keep in mind that you won't be able to do the day trip if your cruise leaves Civitavecchia at 5 pm
