Day Trip Details

At the specified time, we’ll pick you up at your hotel in Baku to commence the day trip to Karabakh, situated amongst the towering peaks of the Caucasus. After an approximate 5-hour journey, we will reach Khankendi, the capital of the territory and the starting point of our excursion.

Our first stop will be the Nana Baba Monument, emblematic of faith and deeply embedded in local culture. Next, we’ll proceed to the Parliament and the University of Karabakh, which manifest the administrative and educational renaissance of the region.

As we stroll through Khankendi, you will notice the spirit of renewal that permeates its streets, a fusion of history and progress. It’s noteworthy that Karabakh was cut off from the world for over three decades due to the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict. Insights into this history will be shared during our journey.

Next, we’ll head to Shusha, regarded as the cultural heart of Karabakh and the birthplace of numerous poets and musicians. Here, we will visit the Yukhari Govhar Agha Mosque, a remarkable structure that has regained its former glory. We will also see the Bullet-Riddled Busts, poignant reminders of the region’s challenging past, and the Natavan House Museum, which honors the illustrious poet Khurshidbanu Natavan.

Close by, we will access the Natavan Spring, famed for its crystal-clear waters, and make our way to the Shusha Fortress, offering breathtaking panoramic views of the valley. Our visit will also include the M.P. Vagif Mausoleum, dedicated to the poet and vizier of the Karabakh Khanate.

During the excursion, you will have free time in Khankendi or Shusha, allowing for lunch at a local restaurant.

We will then journey to the Jidir Duzu plateau, a historic site for ancient horse races, now serving as a natural viewpoint to appreciate the stunning Caucasian vistas. Plenty of photo opportunities await you!

Finally, we’ll start our return trip to Baku, concluding our adventure on Lev Tolstoy Street after a total of 14 hours.
