Theth Excursion

At the designated time, we will collect you from your hotel in Shkodra and embark on our northward journey to Theth, a true natural sanctuary within the Albanian Alps. Be sure to have your camera ready, as the views will captivate you!

Our first stop before reaching Theth will be at the Qafe Thore viewpoint, a historic guard post that offers breathtaking panoramic views of the Theth valley. From here, we will continue to the quaint mountain village of Theth, rich in history and charm.

Upon arrival in Theth, we will visit a bujtina, a traditional local inn that reveals the cultural depths of the village. Established in the 17th century by Albanian Catholics seeking refuge from Ottoman forces, Theth has remained somewhat isolated for over three hundred years, embodying a true sanctuary of serenity!

Next, we will stroll through the village’s streets, where you can admire its church and the iconic tower houses. We will also visit the church of Theth, constructed in 1892 and renovated in 2005. A highlight of our visit will be the Reconciliation Tower, a poignant reminder of family feuds in the past, once serving as a shelter during blood feuds known as 'gjakmarrja.' Throughout the day, we will relish the breathtaking natural scenery surrounding Theth.

After an enriching eight hours of exploration, we will conclude our journey and return you to your hotel in Shkodra.
