Our journey will commence at the designated time from Parque de Las Flores, starting right in front of the Origins Mural.

We will kick off by appreciating this impressive relief work that illustrates the city’s foundation alongside pivotal moments from its past, constructed with an astonishing 20 tonnes of concrete! Shortly after, our path will lead us to the Plaza de la Marqueta and the cathedral of San Isidoro, where we’ll take a moment to admire its stunning Moorish decor dating back to the 19th century.

Our walkthrough continues to the vibrant heart of Holguín: the Calixto García Íñiguez plaza and park, which historically served various commercial, military, and theatrical roles. Next, we’ll stroll over to San José Park, where the eponymous church resides. This basilica, established by Franciscan monks during colonial times, holds the title of the oldest in the city.

To round off our 3-hour walking adventure, we will ascend the 458 steps leading to the Loma de la Cruz viewpoint. At the summit, you’ll be rewarded with breathtaking vistas along with the sight of the towering wooden cross that overlooks the area, along with intriguing tales related to its legend!
