Descripción
Experience the breathtaking allure of the Amazon Rainforest aboard our 7-day expedition along the Amazon and Ucayali Rivers. Your journey begins in Iquitos, where we will embark on an extraordinary week together.
7-Day Amazon & Ucayali River Expedition
The itinerary below outlines the schedule for our 7-day cruise running from December to May.
Day 1: Iquitos - Nauta
Your adventure commences with a pickup from Iquitos airport, followed by a delightful lunch at the DoubleTree by Hilton and an overview of the cruise itinerary.
We will then transfer to Nauta's port, where our vessel awaits. You will have the opportunity to settle in before dinner, after which we’ll embark on our inaugural nighttime boat excursion along the Amazon River.
Day 2: Yanayacu de Yacapana - Vista Alegre - Ucayali River
Starting the morning with an early boat ride through the Yanayacu de Yacapana reserve, we will search for the unique wildlife native to the area, including macaws, sloths, iguanas, and the renowned pink dolphins.
Post-exploration, we’ll enjoy a meal before visiting the Vista Alegre butterfly farm. Following lunch, you can partake in piranha fishing in the Ucayali River. Dinner, accompanied by live music, awaits your return on board.
Day 3: Arroyo Marayali - Pahuachiro
We’ll begin Day 3 with a boat journey along the Arroyo Marayali stream before heading to breakfast. Afterward, a stroll through Pahuachiro will immerse you in diverse flora and fauna of the region.
As evening approaches, we’ll gather for dinner aboard the ship.
Day 4: Nauta
The fourth day starts with breakfast, followed by a trip to Nauta via motorbike taxi. This fun mode of transport will take us to the local market, rich with handicrafts, traditional drinks, and a glimpse into Amazonian traditions.
After exploring, we will return to the boat for dinner and enjoy another evening boat ride.
Day 5: Marañon River - San Regis
The day breaks with an early rise to witness pink dolphins. After breakfast, enjoy some leisure time swimming in the Marañon River.
Following lunch, we will visit the San Regis community, where we’ll navigate its hanging bridges and engage in a tree-planting ceremony led by a local shaman.
We’ll conclude this day with dinner in San Regis before heading back to the cruiser.
Day 6: Arroyo Shiriyacu - San José de Zarapanga - Kukama - Puerto Prado
The sixth day includes an excursion to the Arroyo Shiriyacu stream for an experience of traditional piranha fishing.
Once we enjoy lunch in the village of San José de Zarapanga, the afternoon will feature a visit to the Kukama community to discover their customs and way of life.
Upon our return to the cruiser, a cooking demonstration will precede dinner during our exploration of Puerto Prado.
Day 7: Nauta - Amazon Rescue Centre - Iquitos
Time certainly flies, and by our final day, we will have breakfast as we reach Nauta port. Here, we will disembark to explore the Amazon Rescue Centre, where manatees are cared for by dedicated specialists.
As our week-long adventure concludes, we will transport you back to Iquitos Airport or your hotel.
