Day Trip to Charles Town

Your journey begins with a convenient hotel pickup around 10 am, allowing you to leave behind the hustle of Jamaica's capital as we travel northwards.

After approximately ninety minutes on the road, we will arrive at Charles Town, one of the most significant Maroon settlements in the nation. Our first stop will be the Maroon Museum, where you'll learn about the community's historical struggles and their pursuit of freedom.

The Maroons originated as enslaved individuals brought from Africa during the 18th century and played a crucial role in Jamaica's quest for independence. Today, they consider themselves as autonomous groups of former runaway slaves.

As you wander through Charles Town, you will witness locals showcasing traditional music and dance, providing an immersive cultural experience unlike any other!

Following this, we will visit the serene Buff Bay River, where you can refresh yourself with a swim, followed by a visit to a local restaurant specializing in **authentic Jamaican cuisine** (please note that lunch is not included).

After enjoying your meal, we will head back to Kingston, with an estimated return to your hotel by 3 pm.
