The Path of the Lemons Hike

Embark on an enchanting adventure from Maiori along the Sentiero dei Limoni, also known as 'The Path of the Lemons'. Immerse yourself in the fragrant Mediterranean atmosphere as you take in the stunning landscapes of the Amalfi Coast.

Tour Overview

We will convene at Corso Reginna in Maiori at the appointed hour. From this meeting point, we will set off on our hike along The Path of the Lemons, a scenic route offering captivating vistas of the Amalfi Coast.

To kick off our journey on a delightful note, we will visit a local pastry shop to sample a traditional lemon dessert. Energized by this treat, we will ascend towards the church of Santa Maria a Mare, a remarkable structure dating back to the 12th century, where we can admire its impressive dome from the outside.

As we trek, we will encounter picturesque terraces, known as macerine, where lemon trees thrive, cultivated through age-old farming methods. In addition, we will spot Roman remains nestled among typical Mediterranean flora such as olive groves, vineyards, and pine forests.

Following a brief respite with a refreshing homemade lemonade, we will resume our hike until we arrive at the village of Torre, notable for the church of San Michele Arcangelo. Interestingly, this village is renowned for being a major producer of lemons.

After learning about the history of this charming village, we will follow the pathway leading to Minori. While approaching the village, the bell tower of the Basilica of Santa Trofimena, the village's patron saint, will come into view. The tale of her relics is bound to mesmerize you!

Our journey will conclude in front of this church, in Piazza Ettore e Gaetano Cantilena, after approximately 2.5 to 3 hours of engaging walking.
