Hike Details

At the agreed-upon time, we will meet at your hotel or the Port of Messina to embark on our journey towards the northern slopes of Mount Etna, marking the beginning of an unforgettable experience. This location is essential for hiking enthusiasts, as well as for anyone eager to encounter this extraordinary natural marvel of Sicily.

During approximately 3 hours of hiking, we will navigate through ancient craters, soaking in the remarkable volcanic scenery, along with observing the flora and traces left by the significant eruption of 2002.

When our hiking excursion concludes, our transportation will take us to the area surrounding Castiglione di Sicilia. We will journey through the picturesque Sicilian countryside, renowned for its vineyards, until we arrive at the Alcantara Valley, where we will pause for a delightful picnic-style lunch, featuring local delicacies.

Post-lunch, we will make our way to the banks of the Alcantara River, where you can appreciate its striking volcanic cliffs and basalt walls. Here, feel free to take a refreshing dip, capture memorable photographs, and explore the famed Alcantara Gorges. From April to July, the region blooms with vibrant green foliage, creating a stunning visual feast.

Ultimately, we will return to Messina, concluding our journey with farewells at the starting location after a total time of 7 hours.
