Maroon Town Excursion

Your journey begins at 10 am with a pick-up from your hotel in Ocho Ríos as we set off towards Charles Town.

After approximately an hour and a half of captivating scenery, we will arrive at this historic Maroon settlement. Our adventure kicks off at the renowned Charles Town Maroon Museum, where you’ll learn about the fascinating history of the Jamaican Maroons.

The Maroons, who were imported from Africa and revolted against British rule, have a compelling story that you will explore throughout the day, unveiling many remarkable facts about their legacy.

Music is a vital aspect of this community’s culture and, more broadly, of Jamaican society. During this excursion, you’ll have the opportunity to experience traditional dance and feel free to join in the celebration!

Following the vibrant dance festivities, we will proceed to the Buff Bay River for a refreshing swim.

Before returning to Ocho Ríos, a stop at a local eatery will allow you to savor a delightful traditional lunch (not included). We will then make our way back, aiming to reach your hotel around 3 pm.
