Details of the Day Trip

At the specified hour, we will collect you from the agreed meeting location and proceed eastward to explore one of Asturias' most picturesque spots: Covadonga. Traveling in a minibus, we limit our group size to a maximum of 8 participants for a more personalized experience.

Our first destination will be Ercina Lake, nestled within the breathtaking Picos de Europa National Park. The compact size of our vehicle allows us to get closer to the lakes without the need for extensive walking. From the Entrelagos viewpoint, we'll soak in the spectacular vistas of the iconic lakes of Covadonga and their surrounding alpine scenery.

Next, our journey takes us to the Holy Cave of Covadonga, which houses the image of La Santina as well as the remains of Don Pelayo, the inaugural king of the Asturian monarchy. The breathtaking landscape surrounding the cave will leave you in awe!

After exploring the cave's significance and its historical context, including the devotion held by the Virgin of Covadonga among Asturians, we'll continue to the Basilica of Santa María la Real in Covadonga, renowned as a prime example of neo-Romanesque architecture within Spain.

To conclude this small-group adventure, we will make our way to Cangas de Onís. During our visit, you'll have the chance to see the renowned Roman bridge, followed by approximately one hour of free time to explore at leisure and perhaps enjoy a meal.

Ultimately, we will return to our starting point, with our estimated arrival time between 7 to 8 hours from the beginning of the trip.
