Day Trip to Assomada

Your adventure begins with a pickup at 9 am from your hotel in Praia, followed by a scenic drive into the heart of Santiago Island. Our first stop will be in São Domingos, where you can savor a typical breakfast consisting of corn pancakes and a refreshing glass of punch.

Next, we will explore the São Domingos Eco Centre, allowing you to learn about the diverse local flora and fauna, offering a wonderful opportunity to connect with nature while remaining close to the city's center. Afterward, we will continue our journey, passing through the charming towns of San Lorenzo de los Órganos and Picos.

Upon reaching Assomada, we will head to the Cruz de Picos viewpoint, where breathtaking panoramas of the Valle de Fonte will greet you. You will also stroll through the Assomada central square, visit the Norberto Tavares Cultural Centre, and explore the Municipal Market, all of which showcase the vibrant daily life of the town.

A traditional fish lunch will then await you at a local eatery, providing a taste of authentic flavors. Before we conclude the day, we will make a stop at the Poilao reservoir, home to the oldest tree in Cape Verde! The age of this fascinating landmark will remain a delightful mystery until revealed during the tour.

As the day wraps up, we will return you to your hotel, concluding the excursion around 5 pm.
