Day Trip Details

At the designated time, the trip to Santa Clara will begin with a pick-up from your hotel in Trinidad. After boarding the vehicle, a journey of about 20 minutes will take you to Manaca Iznaga, located in the heart of the Valley de los Ingenios.

For 2 hours, you will explore this former sugar plantation, an important site from the Colonial period. The plantation features a tower standing at 147 ft (45 m), built to oversee the slaves in the cane fields. During your visit, you'll enjoy a guarapo tasting, a freshly squeezed sugarcane juice.

Next, the journey continues to the center of Santa Clara, lasting approximately 1 hour and 45 minutes. Upon arrival, you will have a 30-minute guided tour of the Museum of Decorative Arts, located near Vidal Park. This elegant building showcases furniture, porcelain, and antiques that reflect the lifestyle of Cuban aristocracy from the 17th to the 20th century.

The next destination is the monument of the Tren Blindado, where you will learn about a pivotal event involving Ernesto “Che” Guevara during the Cuban Revolution, marking the end of the Batista dictatorship and the beginning of the socialist regime.

Following this, you will visit the Che Guevara Mausoleum, a site of respect and reflection where the remains of the revolutionary and his 29 fellow combatants are laid to rest.

After the mausoleum visit, enjoy 1.5 hours of free time to explore Santa Clara at your leisure. Later, return to the vehicle and head to a traditional restaurant in Manaca Iznaga for a typical lunch.

After lunch, stop by the Mirador del Valle for the last photo opportunities of the day.

The trip concludes with a drop-off at your hotel in Trinidad, after a total duration of 7 to 8 hours.
