Excursion to Teror, Roque Nublo & Bandama Caldera
Your adventure begins with a pickup from your selected meeting point in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria between 9:10 and 9:45 am. We will then embark on a minibus journey leading us to the island’s highest elevations to admire the Bandama Caldera.
At a designated viewpoint, you will be treated to spectacular vistas of this remarkable volcanic formation. Bandama Caldera, known as the most recently active volcano on the island, derives its name from Daniel Van Damme, a Flemish settler who helped populate the area in the 16th century.
Following our photo session at this natural wonder, we’ll proceed to the picturesque municipality of San Mateo, where we’ll take a leisurely stroll through the historic center. If your visit falls on a Saturday, don’t miss the vibrant flea market showcasing an array of Canarian creations!
Next, we head to Pico de las Nieves, the highest summit in Gran Canaria, offering breathtaking panoramic views. Afterward, we will go to another lookout where you can gaze at Roque Nublo, a defining emblem of the island. While you admire this impressive rock formation, we’ll share insights about its origin and history.
Continuing our exploration, our next stop is the Cruz de Tejeda Parador. Located at over 1500 meters, this viewpoint grants stunning perspectives of the surrounding ravines and mountains. In addition to the magnificent scenery, we’ll have the opportunity to sample local delights such as cheese, olives, and nuts from various stall owners. You will enjoy an hour of free time to savor a meal in Cruz de Tejeda.
Our day concludes in the charming village of Teror, where we will embark on a short guided tour of this beautiful locality, the home of the island’s patron saint.
After an enriching day of discovery, we will return you to your original pick-up location, with arrivals scheduled between 4:45 pm and 5:15 pm.
