Tour Overview
Are you prepared to indulge in the tastes of Provence? We will start our culinary adventure in Marseille at Glacier Bio Le Métropole, an ice cream shop nestled in the scenic Vieux-Port.
Our exploration begins as we stroll toward the Ópera neighborhood. Here, our first stop will be at Boulangerie Aixoise, a charming bakery where you’ll sample a navette, the iconic biscuit of Marseille. After savoring this treat, we will continue our journey to Vanille Noire, a renowned shop offering the unique experience of tasting black vanilla ice cream. This delightful flavor is sure to surprise you!
Next, we will delve into the neighborhood of Noailles, known for its rich cultural tapestry. A highlight will be the Pharmacie Herboristerie du Père Blaize, one of the oldest herbal shops in France. Here, you can explore an array of herbs and Provençal infusions while enjoying a refreshing tea.
Our adventure continues as we navigate the lively streets of Noailles, where you’ll discover shops featuring African and Asian specialties. Delight in the chance to taste traditional treats like makroud, a sweet from the Maghreb. We will also visit Torrefaction Noailles, a historic store dating back to 1927, where you have the option to purchase coffee, tea, and various confections.
Following this, we will make our way to Cours Julien, famed for its vibrant street art murals. We will take a moment to enjoy the dynamic graffiti, visit a cheese shop offering a selection of Provençal cheeses, and explore the area’s vintage boutiques and cafés. Additionally, you’ll have a chance to learn about the preparation of traditional Marseille soap in one of the local shops.
Our 2-hour exploration will come to a close in the Cours Julien neighborhood, where you are welcome to continue discovering its remarkable shops at your leisure.
