Salzburg Day Trip
Description
Birthplace of Mozart, Salzburg is one of the most beautiful and popular tourist destinations in Austria. On this tour, you will also pass through the Lake District and the setting of the musical "The Sound of Music."
Itinerary
To kick off the tour, we will meet at Karlsplatz 21/Stachus, in front of the Kaufhof Gallery. Leaving Munich, we'll hit the road on the way to Austria and skirt the Alps, finally arriving in Salzburg, the country's star destination.
Once in Salzburg, a city declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO, we will pass through the gardens of the Mirabell Palace, the outside of the house where Mozart was born, the Royal Residence, and hundreds of treasures from the Baroque period.
After the guided tour by bus, you will have free time to eat, explore the city, or climb up to the castle.
On the way back to Munich, we will cross the Lake District, stopping at one of its most popular lakes, Wolfgangsee. Here, if you wish, you can take a cruise from the town of St. Wolfgang.
Passing through the charming setting of "The Sound of Music", we will return to Munich at 7 PM.
Important Information
In November and December, for reasons of poor weather, the cruise is substituted with more free time in Salzburg. Between August and October, there are often roadworks on the motorways, leading to increased travel time, so it may sometimes be impossible to take the cruise: after all, the main objective of the tour is to enjoy Salzburg!
