Visiting the Mainz Christmas Market is an essential experience during the festive period. We will gather at the specified time at Liebfrauenplatz 5 in Mainz, and then proceed to the market located in the Marktplatz, adjacent to the magnificent 1,000-year-old Mainz Cathedral.

This market, a cherished part of Mainz’s holiday celebrations, has been delighting visitors since 1799, making it one of the oldest in Germany. As we enter, the illuminated Christmas pyramid awaits us, showcasing life-size, hand-carved nativity figures.

Within the market, a winter wonderland unfolds, adorned with sparkling lights and inviting wooden stalls filled with local artisan crafts. Here, you can search for unique handmade nativity figurines, enchanting wooden toys, and special Christmas ornaments—all perfect for those last-minute gifts.
