Gran Canaria Food Tour

Embark on a culinary journey through the distinctive tastes of Gran Canaria. This food tour takes you to the renowned Arehucas rum distillery and the Banana Museum in Arucas. Additionally, a visit to a farm in Agaete awaits, where you will have the opportunity to savor coffee and wine, along with participating in a Canarian mojo workshop.

Activity Overview

At the scheduled time, you will be collected from your selected meeting point in southern Gran Canaria. Prepare to dive into the island's flavors!

The excursion begins with a scenic drive to Arucas. This charming town in northern Gran Canaria offers our first stop at the Arehucas distillery, where you'll learn the process of rum production from sugar cane. At the conclusion of this informative tour of the facility, those interested can taste various rum options at their leisure.

Following the distillery, we will proceed to the Banana Museum. Here, as we explore the exhibits, you will discover the rich history of this staple in Canarian cuisine. Additionally, we will highlight how to identify the indigenous variety of bananas, known for their compact size and yellow skin adorned with brown spots.

In the museum’s shop, you will find a selection of wines, liqueurs, pâtés, and banana-based creams for purchase. Afterward, we'll visit a local eatery where you can sample authentic Gran Canarian dishes at your own pace, each plate promising to tantalize your taste buds!

Post-lunch, our gastronomic adventure continues through northern Gran Canaria. On Tuesdays, we will explore the Los Olivos estate, whereas on Thursdays, our destination will be the Los Berrazales Winery. In both instances, you will enjoy a tasting of their most celebrated products. Furthermore, there is the delightful opportunity to partake in a coffee and wine tasting and join in on a Canarian mojo workshop, where you'll learn to prepare the traditional sauces that accompany the beloved papas arrugadas (wrinkled potatoes).

The day will culminate with our return to the chosen meeting point in southern Gran Canaria, typically within a span of 6 to 8 hours.

• 7:45 to 8:20 am: from Puerto de Mogán to Arguineguin. Estimated return by 5:30 pm.
• 8:35 to 8:45 am: from Sonnenland and Meloneras to Campo de Golf. Estimated return by 5:00 pm.
• 8:50 to 9:20 am: from Playa del Inglés to Bahía Feliz. Estimated return by 5:00 pm.
