Day Trip to Cape Coast

Your adventure begins when we pick you up promptly from your hotel in Accra. We’ll head towards Cape Coast to uncover the hidden gems of Central Ghana. Are you ready for exploration?

The first destination will be Kakum National Park, a premier attraction in Ghana. Nestled within the Kakum Rainforest, this park features an impressive 40-meter canopy walkway that provides stunning vistas of the diverse wildlife and lush scenery.

We will then make a refreshing stop at Hans Cottage Botel. Perched above a serene pond, this lodge offers a tranquil environment along with a swimming pool enveloped in vibrant greenery. Here, you may encounter crocodiles, turtles, and a variety of bird species. A pause for lunch will also be included, allowing you time to enjoy a meal at your leisure.

Next on our itinerary is a visit to Elmina Castle. Known as Castelo de São Jorge da Mina during its establishment by the Portuguese in 1482, this stronghold is recognized as the oldest castle south of the Sahara. Initially set up as a trading outpost, it later became a pivotal site in the Atlantic slave trade.

We will conclude our tour with a visit to Cape Coast Castle, one of Ghana's largest surviving fortifications, which now serves as a museum. As we explore this historical site, you'll gain insights into its significant role in the gold and timber trade after Sweden’s conquest of Cape Coast.

After an enriching journey lasting between 12 to 14 hours, we will return you to your accommodation in Accra.
