Our adventure begins at 10 am when we depart from your accommodation in Barreal aboard a spacious off-road vehicle. We will make our way to a scenic Andean locale, nestled at the base of the Ansilta Mountain Range.

Sitting at an impressive elevation of over 10,000 feet, the breathtaking Los Morrillos reserve awaits us. Here, we will delve into the diverse flora that thrives in this unique environment. What plants dominate this landscape, and which species adapt best to such conditions? The knowledgeable staff from the reserve, managed by Fundación Vida Silvestre Argentina, will provide insights into these questions and more.

Next, we will embark on a 45-minute trek to discover the ancient caves of Los Morrillos, featuring remarkable cave paintings. These artworks, dating back 8,500 years, are among the rare preserved examples in Argentina. They primarily depict the sun and various animals, along with abstract designs that have sparked numerous interpretations. You'll encounter some intriguing theories that add mystery to these historical creations.

Following our exploration of the caves, we will retrace our steps back to the starting point, where a delightful picnic awaits, featuring a traditional Argentinean picada. Afterward, we will continue to uncover more hidden gems within this Andean region before making our return to Barreal.
