Our adventure will commence at the entrance of Paloquemao Market Square, a vital destination in Bogotá for fresh produce. Are you excited to delve into Colombia’s culinary customs and the significant impact of fruit in its gastronomy?

Once we step into the market, we’ll meander through the vibrant stalls and uncover the remarkable array of tropical fruits native to the region. One of the highlights will be granadilla. Upon tasting it, you will immediately notice the sweet pulp enveloping its seeds. We will also sample zapote, a treasured fruit found at Paloquemao. Its tough skin presents a bit of a challenge to peel, but the reward is a refreshing orange flesh within.

Our journey will lead us to a booth featuring maracuyá, or passion fruit. While relishing its zesty flavor, we’ll explore the intriguing myths associated with its supposed aphrodisiac nature. Our next stop will be a guanábana vendor.
