Prepare for an unforgettable journey as we depart from the Cranky Croc Hostel! Leaving behind the vibrant city of Bogotá, we will head towards the spectacular Páramo de Sumapaz. Our adventure kicks off with a stop for a traditional breakfast to ensure we have the energy for the day's explorations.

Upon arrival at our destination, you will be captivated by the grandeur of this expansive moor, elevated at over 3500 meters (11,500 feet)! Covering nearly half a million acres, this captivating region is home to distinctive flora and fauna. Keep alert for sightings of Andean bears, deer, eagles, condors, and other fascinating wildlife inhabiting this high-altitude ecosystem. We will set out on a hiking adventure that allows us to fully experience the remarkable scenery.

Beyond its stunning vistas, Sumapaz is rich in indigenous culture that has existed for centuries. Join us as we delve into the ancient customs and practices that thrived in this area of South America long before the arrival of the Spanish.

During our hike, we will pause at two breathtaking viewpoints, offering sweeping views of the Frailejones Valley and the glacial lagoons of the páramo. After our explorations, we will retrace our footsteps along the trail, stopping at a farmhouse for a light refreshment of delicious fruit snacks.

As our incredible day comes to a close, we will return you to Bogotá, approximately eight hours after our departure.
