Embark on a captivating journey to a genuine Colombian coffee plantation on this enriching day trip from Bogotá, where you can immerse yourself in the coffee-making process by assisting the farmers in bean picking for a perfect brew.

Itinerary

We will gather at the specified meeting point, The Cranky Croc Hostel, from where we will board a bus heading towards the picturesque mountains surrounding Bogotá. While traversing this scenic route, we will take in the beauty of the Choachí district, leading us to our destination: an organic coffee farm. After a journey of approximately ninety minutes, we will be greeted by the farmers who will share insights into their daily routines and the meticulous process of coffee bean harvesting.

Following this introduction, we will savor a traditional Colombian breakfast, lovingly prepared by the farmers themselves, before diving into the day’s activities. Participants will have the unique opportunity to help in harvesting ripe coffee beans from the farm's extensive collection of over 8,000 coffee plants. Next, we will understand the subsequent steps of the coffee-making process, where we’ll clean and select the beans using specialized equipment, culminating in the delightful experience of tasting a fresh cup of coffee.

As our visit draws to a close, we will pause to enjoy a homemade lunch before embarking on our return trip to Bogotá. The entire experience will span approximately 8.5 to 9 hours, with drop-off at the original meeting point.
