4x4 Tour of the Chaves Region
Your journey begins with a pick-up at your Boticas hotel at a time of your preference. From there, we will set off in a 4x4 vehicle or minibus for a scenic ride to the captivating city of Chaves, roughly a 30-minute drive away.
Our first destination will be the impressive medieval castle, steeped in rich stories of intrigue and folklore. We will delve into the past as we explore the São Francisco and São Neutel forts, two remarkable structures nestled in the heart of the historic town. Before we leave Chaves, a quick visit to the Roman bridge awaits, a stunning construction that spans the Tâmega River, commissioned under Emperor Trajan.
Next, we will travel along Nacional 2, celebrated as Portugal’s longest road, where we will pause at the iconic Kilometre Zero. To conclude our excursion, we will visit the renowned thermal baths. Here, we will discuss the significance of this remarkable public facility and its role as a social hub in the past.
After around three hours of exploration, we will take you back to your hotel in Boticas.
