Tour Options

While booking, you will have the choice between two unique tours, both commencing and concluding at the Transit Commission.

Shuar Community Experience (3 hours)

If you opt for this experience, we will set off on a bike journey to immerse ourselves in the Shuar community’s way of life.

Upon our arrival, a traditional dance will welcome us, introducing us to their culture. Throughout this excursion, we will delve into the customs and rituals of the Shuar, a tribe celebrated for their exceptional hunting abilities.

During the visit, the Shuar will delight us with homemade beverages and offer to paint our faces, allowing us to connect more deeply with their traditions.

After three hours, we will cycle back to the starting point, concluding this enriching journey.

Waterfall Exploration (6 hours)

This option invites you to fully experience the stunning natural landscapes surrounding Bucay. The Ecuadorian Amazon is dotted with extraordinary sites accessible only by foot or bicycle.

We will start our adventure by heading towards the forest of La Esperanza, embarking on a trek to explore the three most iconic waterfalls in Bucay. You will have the chance to take a refreshing swim and unwind.

Next, we will follow the renowned 'waterfall route', extending 10-15 kilometers (6-9 miles). Along the way, we will pause to recuperate and explore a local sugar mill.

We will then sit down for a hearty lunch, refueling after six hours of exploration before returning to the meeting point to wrap up our adventure.
