Set off on a full-day trip from Budapest to Lake Balaton, Central Europe's largest freshwater lake, and its surrounding cities.

Lake Balaton Full-Day Trip

Having been picked up at 9 am, we'll board a comfortable minibus and embark on the two-hour drive to Tihany, located on the Tihany Peninsula. This village offers views of Balaton Lake, a popular destination among Hungarians.

In Tihany, follow your knowledgeable guide on a tour of the Benedictine Abbey, founded in 1055 by King Andrew I of Hungary, who is buried in its crypt. The Abbey was reconstructed in 1754 in Baroque style.

If desired, you can go on an hour-long boat ride to view the beauty of Lake Balaton from the water.

Leaving Tihany, we'll proceed to Balatonfüred, Hungary's oldest spa town. We will stroll along scenic promenades and enjoy the fresh air before starting our return journey to Budapest.

After a total of 10 hours, we'll arrive back in Budapest.
