Activity Overview

The day begins at 8:30 am when we gather at Piazza dei Martiri and board a 4x4 vehicle ready to uncover two of Sicily's most magnificent natural sites. Departing from Catania, we will travel to Mount Etna, with an arrival time of under sixty minutes.

In the first segment of our journey, we will visit one of Italy's most renowned volcanoes. You will stroll along various trails, observe inactive craters, and learn how the local flora and fauna have adapted to the unique volcanic environment. Your knowledgeable guide will share insights into how the slopes of Etna provide optimal conditions for wine production and reveal other intriguing facts about this remarkable natural park.

Following this, we will pause at a local restaurant to partake in a delightful snack, featuring an assortment of liquors, wines, honeys, and various regional delicacies. Enjoy your meal!

Afterward, we will proceed to the Alcantara Gorge Natural Park. Upon approaching the river, you will have the chance to admire the towering rocky cliffs that flank its banks while we discuss the geological history that led to the formation of this spectacular volcanic landscape millions of years ago. This is a breathtaking sight that is not to be missed!

The adventure will conclude around 4:30 pm with our return to the original meeting point in Catania.
