Soroca Day Trip

Join us on a day trip to Soroca, where we will explore a 15th-century fortress and the Romani quarter, immersing ourselves in the rich Moldovan heritage.

Description

The adventure begins at 9 am with a pickup from your hotel located in Chisinau, followed by a scenic 2-hour bus journey to Soroca.

On our way, we will pause at the Thanksgiving Candle, an impressive 30-meter (98 ft) monument perched on a rocky outcrop. This powerful structure honors the unnamed heroes who have safeguarded Moldova's culture, language, and history.

Our first stop in the village of Soroca will be the town’s 15th-century fort, historically significant during the reign of Stephen the Great. The fortress overlooks the Dniester River and offers insights into its strategic importance. Following our visit to the Soroca Fort, you will have some free time to enjoy lunch.

Once we reconvene, we will proceed to the vibrant Romani quarter. Here, you'll be able to admire magnificent castle-like residences, many rising three stories, crafted from exquisite marble and granite. This visit will provide a deeper understanding of the cultural significance of this area to its inhabitants.

On our return to Chisinau, we’ll make a stop at a local brewery in the village of Ghindesti for a taste of local flavors.

Your trip concludes with a drop-off at your hotel, approximately nine hours after departure.
