If you're eager to breathe in the crisp mountain air and soak in breathtaking rugged landscapes, consider this day hike to the 7 Lagoons of Ausangate. This adventure will lead you through the stunning snow-capped summits of the Peruvian Andes.

Hiking Excursion to the 7 Lagoons of Ausangate

Your journey begins with a pickup from your hotel in Cusco between 4:30 and 5 am, followed by a drive to the village of Tinki.

From there, we will proceed to Pacchanta, where you'll enjoy a hearty breakfast. After satisfying your appetite, we’ll embark on a hike amid the majestic Nevado Ausangate and its seven turquoise lagoons. Let’s begin our adventure!

As we trek through the Vilcanota mountain range, you'll be captivated by the awe-inspiring views surrounding the peaks of Mariposa, Jampa, Pucapunta, Tike, and Ausangate, the sixth-highest mountain in Peru, towering at nearly 21,000 feet (6,384 meters). Keep an eye out for llamas, alpacas, viscachas, and, if we’re fortunate, the impressive Andean condor.

We’ll ascend and pause at the picturesque lakes Azul Cocha, Pucacocha, Sibinacocha, Otorongo, Alcacocha, and Comercocha, including a stop at a distinctly located lake - be ready to marvel at its vibrant water colors.

After a brief intermission, we’ll descend back to Pacchanta, where you can unwind for 1 hour in the soothing hot springs. Once we regroup, we'll relish a traditional lunch to recharge.

At the end of an exhilarating day, we will return to Cusco, arriving near the main square around 7 pm.
