Agro-Ecological Farm Experience

Your journey begins with a pickup from your hotel at 10 am, followed by a short drive to an agro-ecological farm situated approximately 3 miles from La Fortuna, in the village known as Agua Azul.

Upon arrival, the locals will greet us with a refreshing natural fruit juice, offering a chance to relax while we observe the farm’s activities. This establishment is dedicated not only to preserving traditional customs but also to the sustainable management of natural resources.

Once acquainted with the surroundings, we will explore the stables, where you can try your hand at milking a cow, a delightful experience especially enjoyable for children. Following this, we’ll gain firsthand knowledge of the traditional methods of liquor distillation and cane juice extraction, which will be complemented by a tasting of these unique products.

The experience continues sweetly as we taste the fresh fruit and artisan cocoa chocolate while observing the techniques used to craft it with traditional indigenous tools. We’ll also take time to explore an ecological garden of medicinal plants.

To wrap up this enriching agro-gastronomic journey, you will savor a delicious lunch featuring farm-fresh ingredients, including cheese, tortillas, picadillo, and coffee. We depart feeling as though we have truly experienced the life of authentic Costa Rican farmers for a day.

We expect to return to the hotel in La Fortuna around 2 pm.
