Activity Details

At the scheduled time, we will gather on Calle Palomino before embarking on a vehicle ride to the launch point. There, you'll receive a briefing on the 8-kilometer (5 miles) route and will be assigned your kayak and paddle. Are you ready? Let's get started!

Your adventure begins with an enjoyable kayak trip to Punta Mosquito, which we expect to reach in about 35 minutes. This stunning location features a vast beach adorned with dunes, mangroves, and breathtaking vistas of the Mexican Caribbean.

As we glide across the waves, keep an eye out for various wildlife, including the peregrine falcon, snowy plover, horseshoe crab, and American oystercatcher. Afterward, we will proceed towards the Kuka River while taking in the rich fauna and flora of Holbox Island. Our paddling journey will last for 1.5 hours, moving through mangrove areas teeming with flamingos, ospreys, cormorants, and roseate spoonbills.

Stay alert! It’s quite common to see crocodiles resting along the shores. Interestingly, this species can live for up to 80 years. We will pause for 10 minutes at the river’s entrance to relax and capture some photos before making our way back to the starting location.

After a total duration of 3 hours, we will conclude our journey at the original meeting point.
