Discover the beauty of Lake Yarinacocha on this guided excursion departing from Pucallpa. As you journey along its shores, you'll have the opportunity to appreciate the region's rich flora and fauna, engage with a local Indigenous community, and relax at San José Beach.

Excursion to Lake Yarinacocha

At 9 am, our team will meet you at your accommodation in Pucallpa and transport you to Puerto Callao, the central hub of the Peruvian district of Yarinacocha.

Once at Puerto Callao, you’ll board a boat and embark on a tour of Lake Yarinacocha, where the ecosystem thrives with a diverse array of Amazonian plant and animal species. Keep your eyes peeled for the playful local dolphins that may come to greet us during the journey!

After approximately two hours on the water, we will disembark to visit a Shipibo-Konibo Indigenous community. This group resides along the Ucayali River and upholds their ancient traditions. During our visit, you will have the chance to admire their handcrafted goods, including traditional costumes and pottery.

Post-visit, we will continue our exploration of Lake Yarinacocha, stopping twice along the way: first in the locality of Caserío 11 de Agosto (also known as Caserío de Cesteros), where local artisans create beautiful items from plant fibers such as baskets, hats, and fans. Our second stop will be at the inviting San José beach.

To conclude our adventure, prepare for a jungle hike to observe the unique wildlife and vegetation indigenous to the area. Following the hike, we will return to Puerto Callao, where a vehicle will be ready to take you back to your hotel in Pucallpa, with an expected return time of 1 pm.
