We will gather at the designated time in Plaza de Alfonso X El Sabio and embark on our journey through the vibrant landscape of El Puerto de Santa María as it thrived in the 17th and 18th centuries. Are you prepared to step into the past?

The city, a hub for "Los cargadores a Indias", or merchants of the Americas, became one of the most pivotal export ports globally. As we explore, we will visit the Castle of San Marcos, which stands on the remnants of an ancient Arab mosque, and the Palacio de Anaríbar, the residence of a prominent merchant.

As we wander through the city center, you'll discover why El Puerto de Santa María is often referred to as the "city of a hundred palaces". Our route will take us past the former customs house, leading us to the Iglesia Mayor Prioral, where we will learn about the history of the Dukes of Medinaceli.

Additionally, the tales of renowned merchants, including Carvajal-Medrano, the Marquise of Candia, and Admiral Valdivieso, will enrich our understanding of this vibrant period. Our exploration will also lead us to the Casa de los Leones, or House of Lions, where we will uncover its historical significance.
