Ferry Service to Ons Island
The Maritime-Terrestrial Natural Park of the Atlantic Islands represents a preserved gem situated along the Galician coastline. Our exciting adventure commences at the Juan Carlos I Marina, from where we will board the ferry heading to Ons Island.
Experience pristine beaches with powdery white sand alongside calming turquoise waters, providing an atmosphere reminiscent of the Caribbean—all accessible just 40 minutes by boat from Sanxenxo. This excursion is an excellent alternative to the more frequented Cíes Islands!

During the booking process, it is essential to select your preferred return time from Ons Island among the available options.
If you wish to extend your visit and return on a different day, please indicate this when reserving. Note that camping on the island necessitates prior authorization from the Xunta de Galicia.
Access Authorization for Ons Island
As a designated protected area, Ons Island has a limit on daily visitors. To access it, you will need to secure authorization from the Xunta de Galicia.
Please be aware that during peak season (15 May to 15 September, and during Easter), you must provide your own authorization to visit Ons Island. We will send this to you via email at the earliest convenience. For the remainder of the year, the guide will carry the authorization necessary for entry on the tour day.
If any participant cannot attend, kindly inform us at least 15 days in advance, along with the name and surname of the individual unable to come so that the Xunta de Galicia can adjust the visitor list accordingly.
Guided Exploration of Ons Island
From 1 October to 14 May, your ferry ticket includes a complimentary one-hour guided exploration of Ons Island. Please note, however, that this guided tour is not available during the Easter season, specifically from the Friday before Easter until Easter Sunday.

Timetables and departure point
You hand in the voucher at the offices of the Mar de Ons shipping company. The complete address is Puerto Deportivo Juan Carlos I, Rúa do Porto, 36960 Sanxenxo. There, you will be instructed which wharf to go to board the ferry.
Please arrive at least 30 minutes in advance.
Necessary Documentation
The island of Ons is a protected area with a daily quota of visitors, and in order to be able to travel to it it is necessary to obtain an authorisation from the Xunta de Galicia, which will be processed by the local provider. Once the authorisation has been processed, you will receive it by e-mail. It is essential that you bring it with you, as well as this voucher.
If for any reason any of you cannot attend the activity, you must give at least 15 days' notice and indicate the name and surname of the person who will be absent so that the Xunta de Galicia can remove him/her from the list.
You must take into account that in high season (from May 15th to September 15th and at Easter) you will have to bring your own authorisation from the Xunta de Galicia to access Ons. We will send it to you by email as soon as possible. The rest of the year, we won't send it to you, as it will be the guide themselves who will bring it on the day of the tour.
If you still haven't received the authorization of the Xunta in your email 24 hours before the date of your visit, you can access the website of the Xunta and download the authorizations by following these steps:

- Once on the page, select option #3 "Search by date and visitor's document"
- After filling in your details, you'll be able to download the authorization directly
In any case, you can also request them at the ticket office on the day of your visit, so we recommend that you arrive at least 25 minutes in advance.
Ticket conditions
Tickets can only be issued up to 30 minutes before the departure of the boat and at the port of departure corresponding to your journey.
The ticket is null and void and has no value outside the day and time indicated on the ticket. If the ticket is lost or mislaid, a new ticket must be purchased.
You must be at the dock 10 minutes before departure and/or return time with your boarding ticket and the enclosed authorisation to disembark on the island of Ons.
The company is entitled to modify the announced timetables and even to suspend and cancel the trip for internal, technical-logistical or organisational reasons, as well as for reasons of weather or unprecedented circumstances. Likewise, it can make any kind of intermediate stopover.
