Hiking Overview

Visualize strolling along trails adorned with ancient cacti. Our adventure begins with your collection from the designated hotel at the scheduled time, as we head toward the northern Atacama highlands. Are you ready to embark on this journey?

Approximately 30 minutes into our excursion, we will arrive at the start of the Purilibre Trail. The trek will lead us uphill through a dry valley, where rocks and intriguing plant life dominate the landscape, particularly the impressive massive cacti. Ever wondered why these plants have such longevity? Prepare to discover the reason!

Before you know it, we will arrive at the banks of the Vilama River, known for its thermal waters. Here, you'll have the opportunity to immerse yourself in these soothing waters, providing a refreshing respite for your feet before we continue our hike. Enjoy a snack amidst this exceptional Atacama landscape.

Following our break, we will proceed on our hike, taking in different perspectives of the Purilibre mountains. Ultimately, we'll conclude our outing back in San Pedro de Atacama, bidding farewell at the Plazoleta La Apacheta after completing this four-hour adventure.
