Mike Wagner, Charlton Heston, John Wayne—you likely recognize these legendary names! Your adventure begins with a pickup from your hotel in Durango, followed by a journey to explore the most notable filming venues of the Western genre.

Your exploration kicks off at the stunning Peña del Águila reservoir, encircled by vibrant eucalyptus trees and candelilla flora. Just a short 20-minute drive from here is the renowned La Joya ranch, once owned by John Wayne. This site featured in classic films like The Sons of Katie Elder and the Texas Rising mini-series.

Next, you’ll venture to the charming village of San Vicente de Chupaderos. Here, you can stroll through its historic streets and visit landmarks such as the old saloon, the sheriff's office, the gallows, and the cemetery. Some of these locations may seem familiar, as films like White Feather were shot at this very spot.

To truly embody the spirit of a cowboy, we’ll take a stop at the Villas del Oeste Theme Park, which served as a backdrop for over 150 productions throughout the 60s and 70s. Wander through this ghost town to see the jail, the saloon, and enjoy a lively cancan dancer show alongside a thrilling duel to the death—be prepared for some gunfire!

As the tour concludes, you’ll transition back from the world of Westerns and return to your hotel in Durango, approximately 5.5 hours after your adventure commenced.
