Details of the Day Trip

At 7:30 am, a pickup will be arranged from your hotel in Douala as we embark on a journey westward to Limbe, located along the volcanic coast of Cameroon.

After a 2-hour drive, we will arrive in this coastal town, which boasts an abundance of palm trees and rubber farms. Here, we will observe how the traditional huts of past workers and their descendants have been preserved over the years.

To delve into the historical context of the city, we will visit the Bimbia Slave Trade Site, a solemn monument honoring the slave tribes of Cameroon that once inhabited this area. Our exploration continues with a trip to the botanical garden, established by German settlers. This garden is notable for housing more than 1500 species of flora, making it one of the three leading botanical gardens globally.

Next, we will investigate the leftovers of the most recent eruption of Mount Cameroon. Amidst the lush greenery, we will appreciate the extensive volcanic lava flow created during the 1999 eruption.

Feeling hungry? We’ll take a break at a local restaurant to enjoy a delightful lunch. To wrap up our day, we’ll head to the beaches of Limbe, providing you with a chance to relax and take a swim before we return to Douala.
