Tour Overview

With your ticket to the Alhambra in hand, you have the opportunity to experience this extraordinary monument alongside a knowledgeable guide. Our journey begins at the café located on Avenida del Generalife, adjacent to the ticket offices.

Consider your ticket time as we embark on a guided exploration of the magnificent Nasrid Palaces within the Alhambra. This historical site comprises three royal residences where the Nasrid monarchs once resided: the Mexuar Palace, the Comares Palace, and the Lions Palace. In the latter, we will admire the stunning patio and fountain that inspired its name, a true masterpiece of Andalusian architecture.

Next, our adventure leads us to the Alcazaba, a strategic military area that safeguarded the palace complex. Within this fortress dating back to the 8th century, we will visit the remnants of the Plaza de Armas and delve into the history of the initial defensive towers, such as the Torre de la Vela and Torre de la Pólvora.

After exploring the Alcazaba's past, we will proceed to the Generalife Palace, renowned for its exquisite Arabic-style gardens. Here, we will discover the vital role of water in Islamic cultures, with the delightful sounds of fountains and irrigation channels enhancing the atmosphere.

This immersive tour will last approximately three hours. Once we conclude exploring the Nasrid Palaces and the Generalife, you are welcome to use your ticket to discover additional sites within the Alhambra at your own pace, including the Medina, Carlos V Palace, Partal Gardens, and the Generalife Lower Gardens. You are free to revisit these areas multiple times as long as your ticket remains valid.

Please note that after we leave the Alcazaba, Nasrid Palaces, and Generalife Palace, re-entry into these areas will not be permitted.

Admission Ticket Requirement

It is important to mention that an admission ticket is not included in this tour. Therefore, to join this guided experience, it is essential to acquire your own ticket for the Alhambra and the Nasrid Palaces. Without this ticket, participation in the tour will not be possible.

Visit at 9 am: for tickets permitting entry to the Nasrid Palaces between 8:30 am and 9 am
Visit at 10 am: for tickets allowing access to the Nasrid Palaces between 11:30 am and 12 pm
Visit at 11 am: for tickets granting entry to the Nasrid Palaces between 12:30 pm and 1 pm
Visit at 12 pm: for tickets with access to the Nasrid Palaces between 1:30 pm and 2 pm
Visit at 2:30 pm: for tickets allowing entry to the Nasrid Palaces at 4:30 pm

10 minutes in advance, please arrive at the following meeting point in Granada: entrance to the Polinario Café Bar, on Avenida del Generalife s/n, next to the Alhambra ticket office.

The guide will be holding a red flag with Andalucía Experience on it.

Please be aware that, to join this guided tour, a few days beforehand you must buy tickets to the Alhambra in Granada with access to the Nasrid Palaces.

You can buy your tickets on the official Alhambra website, where you should select the option Alhambra General Complete Visit.

When buying the ticket to the Alhambra, you have to select the access time to the Nasrid Palaces. The said time should coincide with the time of your tour with Civitatis.
