Embark on a cocoa journey through San Rafael, where we will explore the fascinating process that transforms raw beans into one of Colombia's most cherished treats.

Description

We'll convene at Calle 32 in Guatapé at the specified time to start this cocoa journey through San Rafael. Here, you'll uncover the rich traditions surrounding a key Colombian product.

After departing from our meeting point, we'll head to a local cocoa farm. The approach involves a short walk of approximately 200 meters (656 feet) to reach the main house, where a refreshing beverage will greet you upon arrival.

Following our welcome, we will immerse ourselves in the fascinating realm of Colombian cocoa. An experienced guide will lead us through the farm, detailing vital phases of the cocoa production, including cultivation, flowering, and harvesting.

We’ll then proceed to the wood stove, where chosen cocoa beans undergo roasting. Next, you will witness the preparation process, from shell removal to grinding the beans, ultimately extracting the rich cocoa that will be fashioned into a delicious chocolate bar. After cooling, it will be ready for tasting!

If you wish, you can partake in a unique experience by enjoying a chocolate exfoliation ritual by the river, allowing yourself to connect with nature in an organic manner!

As our delightful day culminates, we will journey back to Guatapé, with the return to your accommodation planned for 4 hours after our initial gathering.
