Your adventure begins with a pickup from your hotel in San José, as we make our way to the province of Cartago. During the journey, you'll enjoy the lush landscapes and rich local wildlife that characterize this region.

Standing at 3,432 meters (11,259 feet), the Irazu Volcano holds the title of the most active volcano in Costa Rica. Here, you will venture into one of its craters and be captivated by a remarkable green lake that varies in depth. The vistas of both the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans from this height are truly breathtaking.

Next, we'll descend into Cartago, the former capital of Costa Rica, to take a brief stop at the Basilica of Our Lady of the Angels. Following this historical visit, you will stroll through the Lankester Gardens, home to an impressive array of over 800 species of orchids and plants.

A traditional Costa Rican meal will follow as we regroup. Enjoy a delicious spread of rice, beans, salad, a choice of meat (chicken, fish, or pork), dessert, and a refreshing beverage.

Continuing our journey, we'll head toward the picturesque Orosi and Ujarrás Valley, surrounded by majestic mountains and thriving coffee and sugarcane plantations. These valleys not only hold colonial significance but have also borne witness to numerous historical events, including pirate invasions and natural disasters. Additionally, this area is renowned for the Franciscan Order, who played a key role in early evangelization and establishing the first Catholic churches in Costa Rica.

Finally, after more than 11.5 hours immersing yourself in this cultural experience, we'll return you to your accommodation in San José.

For those who seek a more concise experience, a tour focusing solely on the Irazu Volcano is also available. This option allows you to soak in the stunning landscapes and breathtaking panoramic views of the crater, offering fantastic photo opportunities. After our visit, you'll head straight back to San José, with this tour lasting a total of 6 hours.
