Expedition to the Lost City of Falan

Your journey begins with a 6 am pickup from your hotel in Ibagué, after which we will proceed northward to explore one of the most remarkable destinations in the Tolima region: the enigmatic Lost City of Falan.

This secluded site, nestled within the dense Tolima jungle, features a captivating combination of ruins, freshwater waterfalls, and natural pools.

Upon our arrival, we will enjoy a hearty breakfast to energize ourselves for the day ahead. Our path will take us through a nature reserve that houses the Lost City, leading us to historic ruins from the mines established by the Spaniards in their quest for gold and silver.

During a guided exploration of the Lost City of Falan, we will uncover the stories and secrets of this fascinating locale. Questions will arise: What led to its abandonment? What became of the indigenous laborers compelled to toil in the mines?

At noon, we will pause for a delightful lunch in traditional style, featuring the local specialty chupao falanense. This dish consists of rice, potatoes, yucca, plantain, egg, and meat, all artfully wrapped in a leaf.

Post-lunch, we will journey to the ravines of the Lost City, where you will have leisure time to enjoy a refreshing dip in the waterfalls and engage in optional activities like zip-lining or rappelling.

As our adventure concludes, we will return to Ibagué and ensure you are safely dropped off at your hotel by 8 pm.
