Your adventure begins at 9 am when we collect you from your accommodation to embark on a journey through La Merced, the provincial capital of Chanchamayo, while uncovering its historical significance.

Were you aware that prior to the arrival of Christian missionaries, this area was home to three distinct cultures? It was in 1635 when the Franciscan monk Fray Juan Jerónimo Jiménez traversed the Huancabamba valley with the intent of converting the local indigenous populations.

We'll commence with a tour of the city, stopping at the square of La Merced, recognized as the first square established in this central Peruvian jungle region. Here, you will admire the church Matriz de La Merced, a stunning example of colonial architecture featuring its characteristic reddish columns.

Next, our journey leads us to the Gallito de las Rocas Zoo, where we will have the opportunity to observe a variety of native plants, birds, and animals.

Continuing onwards, we will head to the impressive Tirol waterfall. This segment will include a 35-minute hike through the lush Amazon rainforest. Along the way, we will make a stop at the viewpoint of La Cruz, providing a stunning vista of the Chanchamayo River as it flows through La Merced.

Following our visit, we'll return to La Merced, concluding the five-hour experience with a drop-off at your hotel.
