Your adventure includes crossing portions of the Atlas mountains, traveling through the picturesque Drâa Valley and its palm groves before reaching the enchanting Zagora Desert, where you'll enjoy a camel ride and spend the night in a traditional Amazigh haima.

On the following day, wake up early to witness a memorable desert sunrise and return to Marrakech, retracing your route via the Drâa Valley and Agdez. A stop at Ouarzazate is included, where you'll tour the Kasbah Taourirt.

3 Day Merzouga Desert Tour

Embark on an exciting 3-day expedition to Merzouga from Marrakech, showcasing the variety of Morocco's landscapes. This journey parallels our 3 Day Sahara Desert Trip.

The first day features a visit to the Kasbah de Ait-Ben-Haddou, a striking fortified settlement. Following this, upon your arrival in Ouarzazate, you'll explore the Kasbah of Taourirt. The journey continues through the scenic Valley of the Roses, culminating in an overnight stay in the breathtaking Dadès Gorges.

On the second day, discover the Dadès Valley and the Todra Gorge before crossing the Jorf Palm Grove and Erfoud en route to the Merzouga Desert, where you'll spend the night.

The tour wraps up on the final day with a stunning desert sunrise, followed by a scenic drive through the Anti-Atlas towards Tazarine. The return to Ouarzazate goes along the scenic Drâa Valley, with a lunch halt at Ouarzazate before heading back to Marrakech.

When you book, you may also choose to conclude the tour in Fez.

4 Day Merzouga Desert Tour

Explore one of Morocco's most picturesque deserts and breathtaking landscapes on this 4-day journey. The planned route resembles our 4 Day Merzouga Desert Trip.

Your adventure begins as we drive to the Atlas Mountains, reaching the Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou, recognized as Morocco's most impressive fortified city and a filming location for productions such as Lawrence of Arabia, Gladiator, and Kingdom of Heaven. Then, we'll travel to Skoura, Kelaat M'gouna, and the Dadès Gorges for an overnight stay.

The second day encompasses exploration of the Dadès Valley, the Todra Gorge, and the Jorf Palm Grove. A visit to the quaint village of Erfoud precedes reaching Merzouga, where you'll take a camel ride through the desert.

On the third day, rise early for a desert sunrise before returning to Ouarzazate via the Tafilalet Palm Grove and Rissani, eventually reaching Alnif to follow the Anti Atlas route towards Tazarine, N'kob, and finally into the Drâa Valley. Your day concludes with a return to your accommodation in Ouarzazate.

The final day features a visit to the Atlas Film Studios and the renowned Kashbah Taourirt, concluding your tour back in Marrakech.

Accommodation

During the 2-day trip to Zagora, you'll stay at a desert camp equipped with various amenities, including shared bathrooms and showers. The nomadic tents accommodate up to 5 people, ensuring your tent remains private.

For the 3 and 4-day journeys to Merzouga, accommodations can take the form of standard or superior options, specifically either a 3-4 star hotel or a desert camp with shared facilities:

• Standard Category: Babylon Hotel, Dar Ahlam, Augberge Tifawen or similar (Dades), Haima camp (Merzouga), and Hotel Les Jardins, Azoul Hotel or similar in Ouarzazate.
• Superior Category: Ksar Sulta, Riad Rihana, Hotel Xaluca Dades or similar (Dades), Azawad Luxury Desert Camp or similar (Merzouga) and Dar Chamaa, Riad Tama, Le Petit Riad, Riad Ouarzazate or similar (Ouarzazate).

In both hotels and desert camps, the stated price is per person sharing a double room. For those who prefer, triple and family room options are also available. Note that air-conditioning in luxury camps incurs an additional fee of 30EUR per tent.
