Tour Overview

At the arranged time, gather at the Museum of European and Mediterranean Civilizations. From there, we will board a vessel that promises a remarkable journey sailing around Marseille. Let’s set sail!

Our first stop will take us to the charming fishing port of Vallon des Auffes, as the sun shifts from a bright yellow to a soft orange.

Next, we will visit the Château d'If, a fortress constructed between 1527 and 1529 on an island in the Frioul archipelago. Commissioned by King Francis I, its dual purpose was to confine notorious prisoners and oversee maritime traffic along the coastline.

Our exploration continues as we navigate the remaining islands of Frioul, uncovering the hidden treasures of Marseille's underwater ecosystems. What unique geological features define Marseille's coastline? Which marine species thrive in these waters? Prepare to learn!

As we return to our origin point, this memorable boat trip will wrap up after a delightful 2-hour experience.

Meeting Location

Due to ongoing construction, the meeting point will be at 5 Quai du Port until May 15. After this date, we will reconvene at the Museum of European and Mediterranean Civilizations.
