Workshop Details
At the indicated time, we'll meet at the Piazza Garibaldi in Pisa to begin a journey into the world of Tuscan cheese-making tradition. Nearby, a place will reveal culinary secrets through a mozzarella workshop.
Upon arrival, we'll explore the curious origins of mozzarella, known to derive from the verb "mozzare", meaning to cut, dating back to the 6th century.
You'll observe each stage of the production process, from milk curdling to the stretching and kneading that produces the cheese's elastic texture. Under expert guidance, you'll mould your own mozzarella, learning to achieve the perfect consistency.
At the end, you can take home your creation as a souvenir of this gastronomic experience. The activity continues with a tasting of local cheeses and products.
We'll sample cured pecorino and fresh ricotta, paired with rustic bread and regional jams. Additionally, we'll discuss how locals maintain the culinary tradition of dairy products in Tuscany.
The experience concludes after a total of 1.5 hours.
